St. Charles County
Community Dance
Come enjoy a fun session of traditional social dances. We mostly do English Country dances (both historic and modern), with an occasional Scottish dance or American contra to mix things up.
In this style of dance, participants generally form two long lines and perform movements together, following the instructions of the caller. The caller explains all of the steps for each dance both before and during the dance.
You can watch video demonstrations at this website.

What You Need to Know
It’s okay if you have zero experience. We practice all of the movements together and then dance to recorded music.
Come by yourself or bring a spouse, sibling, parent, or friend. Everyone dances together, so you don’t need a partner.
Wear comfortable clothes and comfortable shoes.
Admission is $5 per person, payable at the door in cash or by Venmo. Children 10 and up are welcome with adult supervision.
When and Where
Our dance group normally meets on the second Sunday of each month from 3 to 5 p.m. at Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Lake St. Louis (1860 Lake St Louis Blvd).
We are taking a break in December and plan to resume in January. Please check the calendar below or text 636-336-2521 for information.
