Make Your Next Event Memorable

John Notgrass has been dancing since the 1990s. He loves the movement, the music, and the magic of this traditional social art form.

English Country Dancing is a form of social entertainment that goes back at least to the 1500s, when Queen Elizabeth I enjoyed watching everyday people in England dance. William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, and Charles Dickens all refer to it. George Washington greatly enjoyed it. After a revival in the early 1900s, this form of dance has continued to evolve and spread.

John can teach children, teens, and adults of all ages to enjoy dance. Dancing will bring smiles, laughter, and fun to your next club meeting, church social, family reunion, birthday party, or other event.

“John’s presentation on the history of English country dancing was informative, engaging, and fun for our entire group—dancers and bystanders alike! He brought the music and manners of the assembly rooms of Jane Austen’s novels to life. One of our most enjoyable programs ever—and one that we plan to repeat!”
